Sandusky County Human Resources only accepts applications for positions that are currently posted.

Male or Female Juvenile Detention Officer Full-Time or Part-Time - This entry-level professional position performs duties related to the intake, monitoring, and detention of juvenile offenders in a secure corrections facility.  NO SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE OR DEGREE REQUIRED AT THIS TIME, WITH PAID TRAINING PROVIDED.  Updated starting pay rates listed on attachment, with a variety of shifts and some weekends/holidays required.  DEADLINE: December 19, 2025, with open positions to be filled as applications are received.

Eligibility Worker 2 (DJFS) - Full-Time - This caseworker will determine eligibility of customers for PRC, childcare, cash assistance, food stamps, Medicaid, and various special programs including but not limited to Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Programs, following prescribed rules, regulations, laws and procedures.  Deadline to apply:  December 1, 2025 or until filled.

Social Service Worker 2-3 (DJFS) - Full-Time
- Provide safety assessments and case management, counseling, and supportive services to abused, neglected and/or dependent children and their families. Work closely with our strong community partners. Ensure child safety, permanency, and the well-being of families. Be highly adaptable to change, flexible, and creative to meet multiple deadlines and want to make a difference in the lives of children and families in Sandusky County. Additional details can be described in an interview.  Deadline to apply:  August 21, 2025 or until filled.

Corrections Officer - Male & Female (Sheriff) - Full-Time - Conducts security inspections of facility as assigned; inspects assigned areas, cells and inmate living areas for presence of contraband and security; inspects incoming and outgoing inmate mail.  Performs intake processing; prepares various inmate records; searches newly committal and work release inmates entering and leaving facility; releases inmates as required; returns personal property; checks all records of incarceration to ensure completion; and forwards for file storage.  Deadline to apply:  August 8, 2025 or until filled.

Maintenance Repair Worker III (Facility Mgmt) - Full-Time - Plans and installs new wiring; troubleshoots and inspects electrical wiring systems, apparatus, electrical and electrical components in all County buildings (e.g., transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, ballast, switches, fuses, etc.) to determine causes of malfunction or defects and makes repairs as necessary; reads and interprets blueprints, schematics and drawings; prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment; ensures that installations and repairs are in compliance with various city, county, and state codes.  Deadline to apply is June 23, 2025 or until filled.

Communications Deputy (Sheriff's Office) Full-Time - Answers telephone and radio requests for assistance and information; relays information by radio, telephone or teletype to proper or selected agency or jurisdiction; receives complaints and prepares reports; operates and maintains audio recording equipment for all communications equipment. Maintains log of all communication traffic and activity; documents times of all dispatching, arrival times, actions advised and departures. Deadline to Apply: December 17, 2024 or until filled.

Paramedic (EMS) Full-Time - Provides emergency medical assistance and advanced life support in conjunction with an M.D., D.O., or physician advisory board; starts I.V.'s; maintains patient's breathing by intubation; administers medications; operates advanced life support equipment; assesses vital signs; controls bleeding; assists childbirth; immobilizes fractures; communicates with patients, families and other emergency personnel to conduct rescue operations; maintains radio communications with hospitals; transports patients to medical facilities; prepares and submits reports and records of treatment, nature of problem and patient identification to hospital personnel.  Deadline to apply:  October 11, 2024 or until filled.

Road Patrol Deputy-Sheriff's Department-Full-time-Patrols assigned area to maintain order, responds to emergency calls and citizen complaints, enforces traffic laws. Deadline to apply is 04/28/2022 or until filled.
